Earth Charter (ESD)

EARTH CHARTER

A part of the University for Peace (Costa Rica), Earth Charter is an EDU Accredited course provider in Sustainable Development. The Center coordinates a UNESCO Chair on Education for Sustainable Development with the Earth Charter with the aim of implementing educational programmes and research activities in the field of education for sustainable development specifically on the intersection of sustainability, ethics and education.

United Nations Global Compact

UN GLOBAL COMPACT

EDU has been a UN Global Compact participant since August 2011.

The Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact are derived from: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, and the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.

EDU is the main sponsor of Scholarships for officials from developing nations at DCI.  Our organization also oversees coursework quality and accreditation. DCI experts also assist with critical negotiations for EDU access to war-torn countries to provide humanitarian assistance.

International Institute for Middle East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES)

IFIMES

LJUBLJANA/BRUSSELS, January 26, 2015 - Director of the International Institute for Middle East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) Zijad Bećirović and Secretary General of the Intergovernmental Organization (EDU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). With the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation, H.E. Irving Levance became a new member of the Advisory Board of the International Institute IFIMES. 

IFIMES has also signed an MOU with the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) in 2020.

Budapest Centre for Mass Atrocities Prevention

THE BUDAPEST CENTRE

The Budapest Centre is an advisor to the European Commission on Migration and Home Affairs and run EDU Accredited Training Programs.

 

Initial accreditation was awarded in 2014 and ran for 4 years. After re-assessment, accreditation was applied for again and will run to 2022.

European Parliament

EUROPEAN UNION

EDU has been a registered with the EU Transparency Register since 2011. The Code of Conduct in Annex 3 of the 2014 Interinstitutional Agreement on the Transparency Register sets out the rules for all those who register and establishes the underlying principles for standards of behaviour in all relations with the EU institutions.

 

The Secretary General of EDU also enjoys accredited access at the Parliament.

Union of International Associations

UIA

The UIA was founded in 1907 under the name Central Office of International Associations by Paul Otlet (considered one of the fathers of information science) and Henri La Fontaine (Nobel Peace Prize winner in 1913) to enhance collaboration between organizations, and to serve as a centre for documentation. The UIA partners with a number of intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations, as well as other entities that help further its aims.
